  • What a day! Repeat. What a day!

Took Rosario for a run to Cypress Head today. Hot, sunny day and only two boats and three kayaks in the whole place. Boat and outboard ran really well. The anchor off set up held the boat off the beach, the motor tilted up and the ladder went down in the shallow water. Picnicked, sun bathed and ran home. Can't believe it is just a half hour from our dock and it has probably been 20 years or more since I was in there.

I have to ask: What is up with that ladder? That thing is totally cool!

You had me going for a minute, Jerry. I thought the hatch cover was a solar panel and I was trying to figure that out. I know you carry two good batteries, you shouldn't need to charge them every time you start the motor. I thought maybe you had converted the Evinrude to electric, or Becky made you put an air conditioner in the cabin. I am completely envious of you. You live on an island, have a great boat, a handy launch ramp and some of the best boating in the world at your fingertips. I was wondering if you needed to adopt a son. I am available. I'm not much trouble (any more) and can pay for my own food. I'm pretty sure my current parents would be willing to give me up. Think about it.

Yeah, that ladder is looking pretty sweet as no more jumping off the bow onto the beach for me.:GoodJob:

Ah, where to begin? Love the ladder. I'm both too old and too short to make it to and from the beach over the bow. Found this one used on eBay and really enjoy it. Just fold it up and pull to pins and store it onboard.
Also crazy about the power tilt on the motor. Makes beaching the boat so much easier. Thanks again, Tim.
Yah, rather sloppy to photograph the boat with the hatch open. Maybe I should paint the inside to look like a solar panel so it wouldn't just look like laziness when I leave the hatch open.
John, have four sons already but might consider an adoption of one who would hang around and could work on boat, motor, paint the house, tend the yard, wash and wax boat, car and truck, grease trailer wheel bearings (2 boat trailers but both single axle), make a good cup of coffee, keep my computer straightened out and tell me funny stories. Still interested?

                  What a day!

                  Jerry,
Great to hear you and Becky are out enjoying the boat and the waterways. Got all the bugs out of the boat...everything working! Great!

Cypress Head? Is that different from Pelican Beach? Haven't been there (Pelican)for a few years. Mostly kayaks now I'm guessing from the satellite view, not Pelicans...

Look forward to seeing you on the waterways....

                    Hi Tim,
Cypress Head is the eastern most point on Cypress Island. It is at around N48 degrees, 35 minutes, W122 degrees, 40 minutes. It is a DNR park with nice campsites and toilets. The head is almost an island connected to Cypress by a narrow spit. There are four or five buoys, as I recall on the north cove. It is perhaps three miles south of Pelican Beach and a couple miles south of Eagle Harbor. On a warm, sunny Monday there were maybe four kayaks and three boats in there.
Next to Jones Island, it is one of our new favorite places and a lot closer to Lummi Island.
                    Jerry
